Intended for use in extremely steep faces, the insertion of the carbon arches and the main opening of the tent are in the width. In addition, two attachment points on the sides allow you to fix your tent if you don’t have room to stretch the guy ropes. At the top, a Blue Ice strap that connects the inside and outside of the tent and on which you come and pitch your tent, allows you to keep a lifeline to the wall in case of a landslide.

Depending on the qualities and performance required, the composite is adapted to suit the use. The walls of the ASSAUT2 ULTRA are thus made of a 2-layer laminated fabric resulting from the combination of Dyneema Composite Fabric and an ePTFE membrane. This Samaya know-how allows the combination of waterproofness, breathability and extreme lightness.

The Dyneema filaments on the outer part of the fabric are arranged at 90° to each other to ensure the fabric’s extreme mechanical strength. The ePTFE (Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane on the inner layer is the result of stretching PTFE, a linear polymer. This microporous structure allows water molecules to pass through in the gaseous state, thus allowing a breathability of 40,000 g/m²/24h, while not allowing water in the liquid state to penetrate at all with a water resistance of 20,000 mm. The walls are therefore naturally water-repellent and hydrophobic thanks to the Polyester coating, but also thanks to the very low natural water absorption rate of Dyneema (water absorption in 24 hours for HMWPE is less than 0.01% – ASTM D570).

Dyneema Floor
The Dyneema composite was chosen by Samaya for the flooring of the ALPINE range of tents and assault tents because of its exceptional properties. It is a laminated textile consisting of mono-filaments of UHMWPE fibre and two layers of Mylar.

Dyneema filaments superimposed at 90° to each other provide the mechanical qualities of the fabric and enable it to contain tears in the event of perforation. The two sheets of Mylar join the fabric together and provide excellent abrasion resistance and an unprecedented waterproofness of 20,000 mm. In addition to its performance, this material is very easily repairable, which increases the lifespan of Samaya products.
